Character Personality: As the "light of determination", Ingus is noted for his steadfast loyalty to all allies. He does not allow anything, both outside forces and inside forces, to shake his composure. He is incredibly honest, almost to a fault, and never hesitates to express his opinion when he feels that certain decisions may place people he cares about in harm's way. In fact, he will often go out of his way to ensure that his friends are kept safe, though people often find themselves frustrated when Ingus decides to step in their path and stubbornly refuse to budge without telling them that he sensed they were in danger. Most of his closest friends, however, are well aware of this trait and trust his judgment.

Often serving as the voice of reason, Ingus finds no trouble with receiving any sort of criticisms or harsh words from others and prefers to be quietly rebellious. One may find that although it is quite obvious when Ingus is bothered by something, he rarely explains what he is bothered by, or why it is grating his nerves, and it is even harder to read whether he is irritated or actually genuinely angered. He's terribly passive aggressive for the most part, but rarely holds a grudge. His anger often passes as a phase before he can find a way to make an enemy miserable. He is an anchor for his friends, someone that they can wholly depend on and lean on when they are tired. He takes his responsibilities very seriously and has always been fairly mature for his age. For this reason, he is generally mistaken to be older than he truly is.

Still, ever since returning to Castle Sasune though, Ingus has become uncharacteristically quiet. He had always been one of a few words, but his eyes took on a certain lifeless quality often found in a child who has seen too much. What he desires is for a world where no one has to be brave. He has an incredibly strong protective streak, willing to toss himself in harm's way for the sake of others. This being said, naturally, he does not want others to worry about his state of mind, and can often be found forcing a smile to reassure the people who look to him for guidance. Ingus is a terrible liar and a person noted for his honesty; he prefers to dodge the truth instead. He has a very loud conscience and will, sooner or later, fess up to what was left unsaid.

And even if Ingus generally comes off as "all work and no play" (which he is but that's beside the point), he has his own sense of humor. Many may find it a little strange, but he says that he'd prefer to see people smile as opposed to the other. Granted, it's coy humor, but at least it is genuine. Having grown up while simultaneously going through training as a knight, even if he has traveled far and wide during the annual pilgrimages to the four crystals, there are many things that Ingus does not know about the world. Still, he likes to keep himself busy, and one will find that he is usually the first to jump to doing a job, especially if it's something that no one else really wants to do.

Hey, what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.

Character Abilities: After being blessed by the Crystals, Ingus gained the ability to switch 'Jobs'. Although his main job class is a Freelancer, he can switch between a Red Mage and a Knight, depending on what the situation may call for. However, transitioning between job classes comes at a cost. From a Freelancer, he finds little trouble transitioning to Knight or Red Mage, but going from Knight to Red Mage, vice versa, or from either of those classes back to a Freelancer puts both a mental and physical strain on him.

Switching between different job classes grants Ingus different abilities. Their specifics are listed below:

Freelancer: Considered Ingus' "neutral" state, along with the most common class that one might find him in. As a freelancer, he is fairly adept at wielding a sword. In this class, Ingus has command over the most basic levels of magic. His Freelancer class is the least battle-ready one, but rather, acts as a mediator and a bridge between his other two classes.

Red Mage: As a Red Mage, Ingus has expanded magic capabilities, but nowhere near as extensive as a Black or White Mage's. However, the trade-off to that is being able to access a decent pool of offensive and support magics. As a Red Mage, he retains his ability to wield a sword. This job class is the one with the most magic potential.

Knight: As a Knight, Ingus has access to less elements of magic. However, he retains the use of the most basic of white magic. He finds it easiest to wield a sword as a knight. As opposed to relying on magic, Ingus relies on defense and strength in this class, making it his physically strongest job class.

Third Person Sample:

Border patrol was not supposed to end up lying face-down on an unusually smooth stone. Picking himself off of it, Ingus could see, now, that there were many, many more of these bizarre stones. In fact, they were perfectly cut and made a straight line, disappearing beyond the horizon. How curious, he thinks to himself, because he knows the territory of Castle Sasune's borders like the back of his hand. After all, the castle was where he had grown up and spent his entire life.

One requirement of being knighted in Sasune was being able to recite every single significant landmark on the perimeters of the king's territory. Ingus knew the way blindfolded.

He rubbed his forehead, feeling the slight impressions that the concrete sidewalk had left in it. There were too many questions racing through his head, and he was having trouble simply grasping onto one. Where was he? When did he fall unconscious? Were the king and the princess safe? What were those bizarre, two-wheeled contraptions that moved faster than a walking person but didn't require a horse to draw it? And what sort of magic was powering the signs that glowed in the daylight anyways?

Ingus rubbed at his eyes, removing his hat from his head. The most bizarre thing of them all was the fact that nobody appeared to think it was strange for someone to drop unconscious in the middle of the sidewalk, and upon further observation, he realized that the residents of this new town were quite the sights to behold. In fact, it appeared that no two people were quite alike, and he had a difficult time believing that everyone had come from the same town.

What a strange place.

Did all of these different people live here together?

"Excuse me," he says, calling to the first person who passes by him. They don't even bat a lash at him, only raising a brow as if to ask, tacitly, "what do you want?" "Where... is this place?" and then, "I am ashamed that I must ask, but which way to Castle Sasune?"

."Are you here to help us?"

"To help you?"

"Yes, we've been having a few power troubles. Oh! You must be one of the people here to help. I can't thank you enough!" And with that, the person is gone, as if they had never paused to hold a conversation with him.

It's suspicious, Ingus thinks to himself, but he wasn't about to turn down a plea for help no matter how strangely it was delivered.
